Intended for: Executive Directors, Financial Managers, Finance Committee and Board Members

Part III – Financial Reports
This workshop increases the comfort level of nonprofit managers and board members in reading and interpreting nonprofit financial statements. Using nonprofit examples, we will review the statements of activities and financial position and explore how these statements can be used together to inform strategic planning.
Workshop participants will:
- Review the fundamental concepts and structure of nonprofit financial statements
- Discuss techniques for interpreting this data and incorporating it into decision making
- Explore how to set goals that help maintain financial health
Karen Coffman, Jackson County Treasurer
Karen is an active volunteer in the Jackson Community. She serves on the Nonprofit Network Board, is Chair of the audit committee and member of the finance committee.
Mike Shore is retired from Consumers energy and is an active volunteer in the Jackson Community. Mike is a former Board President of the United Way of Jackson County. Currently he serves on the Nonprofit Network Board and is a member of our finance committee. He has much knowledge to share about a board member's role and has been a well received presenter for many Nonprofit Network workshops.
