Nonprofits who acknowledge and effectively intervene to address stress and trauma have better mission outcomes. This occurs through building a resilient workforce that is better able to manage crisis in not only their own our lives, but serve clients, organization, and community more effectively. But what does it mean to be trauma-informed, and how can nonprofits build such an environment for their own teams? In this 1.5 hour recorded workshop, participants will learn what it means to be trauma-informed, as well as some of the basic principles and components of a trauma-informed workplace and building trauma informed programs. These principles are applicable to any size or type of nonprofit, and create a strengths-based framework grounded in the understanding of and response to the impact of trauma to approach relationships. During this session we will seek to define trauma, recognize it’s prevalence and how it shows up in our organizations, and ways to respond to it knowledgeably. Designed for - Leadership, Development Staff, Volunteer Coordinators -------------------------------------------------------------------- Presented by, Katena Cain, PhD. our Nonprofit Management Consultant and Regina Pinney our Executive Director.
