Being an Executive Director requires you to be a "very versatile person".
In addition to building and managing impactful programs that move the needle, you are also required to:

  • Manage complex finances (including managing donations and grant funds),
  • Appropriately support the board of directors who simultaneously look to you for guidance and direct the vision and mission of the organization (don't forget recruiting and training your board)
  • Recruit and supervise volunteers and staff, including complying with multiple laws and requirements to ensure employees are treated fairly
  • Fundraise and write grants to support your organization
  • Evolve in your own understanding of equity and social justice.

You need help and this academy will provide you the basics, giving you a foundation of understanding, steps to implement it all and strategies to fit it all into the day.  We will also discuss self care and burnout avoidance strategies - for you and your team.

The Executive Director Academy builds a cohort and peer learning support system.  You will meet other ED's just like you, and have ample time to learn and share with others.

Online Course Description— Our new modernized Executive Director Academy is a cohort of no more than 15 participants who have been in their current position for fewer than 5-7 years.  This deliberate and consistent gathering of people who have similar tenure in their positions aims to accomplish the following:

*Course includes additional tools, assessments, and matrixes for you and your board.
