Exciting Changes to Our Employee Handbook!

At Nonprofit Network, we're always striving to make our workplace better for our dedicated staff. Recently, we undertook a thorough update to our Employee Handbook, ensuring it reflects our commitment to creating a supportive, flexible, and inclusive environment. This process involved staff feedback, detailed reviews by our Policy Committee, and approval by our full Board.

Here’s a quick look at some key updates:

  • Mental Health and Wellbeing (Page 14): A new policy to support mental health.
  • Paid Bereavement Time (Page 15): Added new leave options for personal loss.
  • Attire and Personal Care (Page 21): Updated language for clarity and inclusivity.

Mental Health and Wellbeing

Our new mental health and wellbeing policy underscores our commitment to supporting the emotional and intellectual demands of our work. We want to ensure every employee feels empowered to care for their mental health while balancing their professional responsibilities.

We also recognize that individual needs vary, and we’re dedicated to providing personalized accommodation if needed. Our updated handbook encourages employees to reach out to the Executive Director to discuss specific needs in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Paid Bereavement Time

We now offer up to five days of paid bereavement leave per year for the loss of a loved one. There are no restrictions on how you define a "loved one," offering flexibility in these personal and difficult times.

Attire and Personal Care

We’ve refined our guidelines to promote a respectful and comfortable work environment. Our goal is to ensure everyone feels confident and at ease while maintaining a professional setting.

We’re proud of these updates and the positive impact they’ll have on our team and organization. As always, we’re committed to fostering an environment where everyone can thrive!
